Work and Some Thrifting
earrings from etsy seller hothoops
pearl necklace gift from father-in-law
elastic black headband from ???
silver watch from Target
jean jacket from NY&Co. (like 4 years ago)
black and white wrap dress from Andie
black boots from Macy's

I love this time of year in New Orleans when it's fresh and crisp outside and I can occasionally sneak a pair of boots into rotation.  I had been wanting to get a new pair of low heeled black boots and scouring the internet to that end.  Then, I decided to pull out the ones I already have and fell in love with these platform ones again.  I didn't remember liking the shape this much or the subtle heels.  I took a detail picture below so you can check them out.  They aren't leather and they weren't expensive but they are so comfortable.  I bought them right before my trip to Korea last year and pulling them out made me miss spending time with my sister in her tiny Korean apartment on Yeong-do Island

My husband washed my truck over the weekend and I really wanted to pose with it in my countrified jean jacket.  I don't love the wash on the jacket but it fits well.  I feel dated when I wear it because I would probably get something just a little bit darker now.  I wore it over my black and white dress from Andie of What Andie Wears to keep the chill off.  I added simple jewelry including the pearl necklace my father-in-law gave me for Christmas this past year.  I love the detail on the clasp so I took a quick picture for you guys to see.

I would absolutely wear the dress again because I feel so cute in it, and it shapes my mid section well.  I added a slip this time so I wouldn't get "exposed" during the wind.  The dress is a great length for boots and I think I remember Andie telling me that when she passed it along. I ended up changing in and out of it when I went thrifting purely by accident.  There is a thrift store on my way home from work and I caught a train so rather than be stuck in the truck, I stopped off to do some shopping.  My intentions were to try and find a dress for my Halloween costume, but I ended up finding a few really cute things to try on.  I was so surprised by the amount of items I pulled for the dressing room my second time back.  Nothing fit quite right, so I didn't make any purchases, but I was still very happy with the experience.  It hasn't converted me to a full-time thrifter but I am sure I will be back again.

I've been really loving the black and denim combination this fall, both for myself and on others. So simple and so chic. You look wonderful!
