I made my yearly pilgrimage to Destrehan Plantation for fried green tomatoes, roasted corn, lemonade, and wandering through the antiques barn. I decided to wear my new DIY skirt from the Sew Sew Darling class. Initially, I wanted to do a concert tee, and it just didn't look quite right. I switched out the top for a tank and sweater in the same grey with my skull shoes and a black belt as accents. It was a great day but the highlight was seeing my Mom work at the open hearth in the kitchen and ask me where I got my skirt. When I told her I made it, she didn't even realize. She's a professional seamstress as well as a historical food demonstrator so that made my day.
