Goodness, it's leap day. I wish I could say it was an action packed, fun-filled day, but instead I will just have to opt for action packed and stressful. I hope that my sewing class tonight will help me focus on anything other than all the BS that has been dragging me down today. No more whining now; I promise. Let's just buck up and talk about clothes... Glorious clothes!
I was inspired by this outfit from Gracey over at Fashion for Giants. I loved the orange and grey together, especially her fuller skirt. I have a similar look in grey corduroy with pleats that would work well as a base. Since spring is on its way into NOLA and lighter fabrics will move into my rotation, it also seemed like a fitting farewell ensemble for this skirt. I went with a rusty orange ruffle neck tank and a floral printed cardigan and my favorite two tone cutout oxford heels.
Since organizing my jewelry, I have been able to find lots of great pieces that were buried before including these fleur de lis earrings and my pearl and mesh necklace. I also managed to cull my oxford obsession slightly. I sold the two pairs below to Buffalo Exchange for a reasonable sum because if you combine them they basically make the ones I am wearing in today's outfit. It's a shame I had to look so long and spend unnecessary cash to get something that ended up working, but now someone at Buffalo Exchange will get a great deal!
P.S. Walking to my car after work, I was asked by a student dressed in a yellow banana costume if I wanted any candy. I said sure, then he said I had to cry for it Leap Day William Style. This totally refreshed my day. The beer after sewing class didn't hurt either!
